For the last five years, Power has been a proud partner of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF). Each June, we dedicate the entire month to raising awareness and funds that help ALSF in their fight to end childhood cancer. Throughout the month, employees in our 11 offices participate in a variety of activities, including kickball tournaments, children’s hospital visits, and lemonade stands.

Power Month for Alex’s is here! We are proud to announce our dedicated involvement in spreading awareness for one of the country’s leading foundations for childhood cancer research.  This June, each of Power’s 20 regional offices throughout the country will spend the month raising awareness and donations for this inspiring cause. Our employees, as well as our amazing customers, recognize the importance of organizations like Alex’s Lemonade Stand, and want to help fight in the battle against childhood cancer. Since 2011, our donations have helped fund more than 475 research projects into new forms of childhood cancers, as well as clinical trials of new treatments that help stop cancer in its tracks.

Meet Alexandra “Alex” Scott.  Joyous, strong, and confident, Alex was born on January 18, 1996, but her life was cut short on behalf of her diagnosis of neuroblastoma, a rare form of childhood cancer. However, Alex did not go out without a fight- one that sent shockwaves through the cancer research community.

Just last month, Power Home Remodeling Group held its second annual “Power Month for Alex’s” fundraising initiative to give back to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF), one of the leading foundations for pediatric cancer research.

Power Month means a lot to our employees, some with personal family experience of pediatric cancer. We hosted a series of events and fundraisers throughout the month within each of the eight markets where we offer our home improvement services. Devoting an entire month to the cause was a great opportunity for all of us to further engage with this mission by helping raise awareness of pediatric cancer and bringing Alex’s incredible story into new communities across the country.

Our employees proudly distributed information about the foundation to homeowners, took part in office lemonade stands, and coordinated both a 5K and a golf outing to raise awareness of ALSF’s mission.
